If you saw a nice new model online and you are not sure when or if it was released, this list will include all releases published by Games Workshop in 2024. For the upcoming releases we have a separate article.

Tomb Kings of Khemri Core Box

The return to the Old World debuted with two launch box. The first one is dedicated to Khemri with a single new miniature, the Necrolith Bone Dragon that can be ridden either by a Liche Priest or a Tomb King, and 91 miniatures from the old range (40 Skeleton Warriors, 32 Skeleton archers, 16 Skeleton Horsemen, and three Skeleton Chariots).

Kingdom of Bretonnia Core Box

The Kingdom of Bretonnia also got its own launch box with a brand-new Lord on Royal Pegasus who can be built as a Duke or a Baron and a collection of units from the past (12 Bretonnian Knights of the Realm, 36 Bretonnian Men-at-Arms, 24 Peasant Bowmen with two defence stakes and three Pegasus Knights).

The Old World Rulebook and accessories

While both launch box are complete with rulebook, dice, rulers and all that you need to play the game, the Rulebook (352 pages with only 70 of background) is also available separately, accompanied by The Old World dice set, lore of magic reference cards, common magic items reference cards and sleeves.

To play the game, you need also one of the army book depending on your faction of choice: Forces of Fantasy contains rules for the Dwarfen Mountain Holds, the Empire of Man, the Kingdom of Bretonnia, the Wood Elf Realms and the High Elf Realms. Ravening Hordes contains rules for the Orc and Goblin Tribes, the Warriors of Chaos, the Beastman Brayherds and the Tomb Kings of Khemri.

These two Arcane Journal contain additional rules for playing Kingdom of Bretonnia and Tomb Kings of Khemri including new ways to play the army and named characters.

Kingdoms of Bretonnia initial release

At launch the Bretonnia box was accompanied by the brand-new plastic Battle Standard Bearer on Pegasus and a re-release of some classic kits like the plastic Pegasus Knights, the metal Grail Knights, the metal Mounted Yeomen (five models) of which is available also the Mounted Yeomen Command kit with the Warden, standard bearer and musician (metal models on plastic horses) and the metal Battle Pilgrims available in a set of 12 or in the Grail Reliquae kit with six pilgrims plus the Reliquae itself.

But there are also new resin kits available, starting from the Handmaiden of the Lady, that can be assembled either as a Damsel or a Prophetess.

To accompany the knights there are two new resin Battle Standard Bearers, one on foot and one mounted.

And finally, a Questing Knight that can also be used as Paladin with the Questing Vow.

Tomb Kings of Khemri initial release

Aside from the launch box, reference cards and dice, the Tomb Kings saw the re-release of classic kits like the Tomb Guard (20 plastic models), the plastic Sepulchral Stalkers that can alternatively be assembled as Necropolis Knights, the plastic Necrosphinx that can also be assembled as a Khemrian Warsphinx with a Tomb King mounted atop or on foot, the metal and plastic Settra the Imperishable, a metal Liche Priest, metal Ushabti that can be armed with Ritual Blades or Greatbows but also some new resin kits.

There’s plenty of Tomb Kings models in the range (one can be assembled from the Necrolith Bone Dragon or the Necrosphynx) but this is the latest on-foot resin model in the range.

The Royal Herald with flail is a battle standard bearer (in resin).

And finally, in resin a reimagining of the Tomb Swarms kit.

Bretonnia classic models made to order

For 10 days only (from the 27th of January to the 5th of February) have been available to book on a made to order basis some classic models in metal like the Bretonnian Lord on Pegasus (from 1997), Bretonnian Lords and Battle Standard Bearer on Warhorses (all from 2004), a Knight of the Realm on foot, a Grail Knight on foot, 2 Questing Knights (all good candidates for Paladins and ranging from early to mid-90s), a Damsel on foot and one on Warhorse (both from 1997).

Tomb Kings classic models made to order

For the same limited time period, a Tomb Kings army can be enriched with these classic metal models: a Tomb King with hand weapon and shield, a Tomb King with a great weapon, a Liche Priest on Skeletal Steed and one on foot (sold as a pair) and a Battle Standard Bearer on Skeletal Steed and one on foot (sold as a pair) all from the Tomb Kings release of 2003.

Tomb Kings core box in individual boxes

All miniatures previously available only in the Tomb Kings Core Box have now been split in individual boxes. The highlight is surely the Necrolith Bone Dragon, that can be ridder either by a Tomb King or a High Priest, but there is also a box of 25 Skeletons that can be assembled either as Warriors or Archers or a mix, 16 Skeleton Horsemen that can also be assembled as a mix of Skeleton Horse Archers and 3 Skeleton Chariots with their own group of command option.

Nekaph, Emissary of Settra

Nekaph is Settra’s loyal servant tasked to recount all titles acquired by his master in his very long existence. This is a brand-new resin miniature.

Tomb Kings returning kits

Other characters have been released at the same time, including Prince Apophas represented half-way in his transformation in a Scarab swam, a Necrotect and a Tomb King on Skeleton Chariot, all in metal except the plastic chariot.

The Tomb Scorpion is a remaster in resin of the 2003 sculpt.

As is the Screaming Skull Catapult resin kit with clearer details.

While the Carrion set has seen the addition of a third model to complement the pre-existing 2 in resin.


Bretonnian Knights of the Realm

The new plastic kit of Knights on foot allows to build 20 miniatures, with either two-handed halberds or with sword and shield. As there’s also 2 command groups, they can be built as two different units. Together with them, from the Bretonnia Core Box, was re-releases the Mounted Knights of the Realm in a box with 12 plastic models.

Lord with Great Weapon

While technically released for the first time, this metal model was meant to be a Warhammer Games Day exclusive miniature in 2010. Now can serve as any Lord armed with great weapon.

As part of this tranche of re-releases, Bretonnia range is enriched with new old metal kits, in particular 3 Questing Knights that can be used also as Knighs Errant, and their separate command group (another 3 metal sculpts), a group of 6 Bretonnian Squires (and their command group), a set with 2 Prophetess of the Lady, one mounted on horse and one on foot, and finally the most famous Green Knight, a great model despite his age.

Orc and Goblin Tribes Battalion Box

Orc and Goblin will be the next army to be released. Their battalion box will not contain the core rules but it will still be packed with 73 plastic miniatures: 2 Orc Boar Chariots, 31 Orc Boyz (including a champion, a musician, and a standard bearer), and 40 Goblins with their command group.

Black Orc Warboss

The Black Orc Warboss is the first of the new resin models for Orcs and Goblin created specifically for The Old World.

Orc and Goblin Arcane Journal and other releases

The Orc and Goblin Tribes Arcane Journal includes many more units and was accompanied by reference cards, dice and a plethora of old models, ranging from plastic to metal to remastered resin.

In plastic we had re-released:

  • Orc Bosses (a set of an Orc Boss on War Boar and one on foot)
  • Orc Boyz Mob (a set of 31 Orc Boyz with choice of weapons and command options)

In resin joined the fray:

  • Orc Command Set (Orc Warboss with great weapon and Orc Bigboss with battle standard)
  • Night Goblin Command Set (Night Goblin Warboss on Giant Cave Squig, Night Goblin Bigboss with battle standard, Night Goblin Shaman)

Lady Élise Duchaard, Prophetess of the Lady of the Lake

Lady Élise Duchaard is a new character for Bretonnia, but a clear reminder to the older Prophetess kit.

Bretonnia Lord on Royal Pegasus and returning kits

The Lord on Royal Pegasus, first available only in the core box, is now sold also separately with few customizable options. At the same time we had the re-release of the following models:

  • Men-at-Arms, plastic kit with 36 models
  • Peasant Bowmen, plastic kit with 36 models
  • Transfer Sheet

Tomb Kings Casket of Souls and Necrolith Colossus

The last two Tomb Kings kit are returning back in remastered resin: the Casket of Souls can now be left with the open casket to show its new mummy inside, while the Necrolith Colossus has been adorned with a third head option.

Orc & Goblin Tribes re-releases

The Orc & Goblin Tribes receive a host of new boxes, all re-releases of older kits:

  • A set of 2 metal Orc Shamans, one on a Boar and one on foot
  • Orc Mob, a plastic set of 40 models with options for two hand weapons or warbows
  • Black Orc Mob, a plastic set of 20 models
  • Orc Boar Boyz, a plastic set of 10 models with choice between hand weapons or cavalry spears
  • Orc Boar Chariots, a plastic set of 2 models
  • The plastic Goblin Shaman
  • Goblin Mobs, a plastic kit with 40 models, including 2 group of command and options for either thrusting spear and shield or shortbow
  • Night Goblin Mobs, a plastic kit with 40 models, with options for either thrusting spear and shield or shortbow
  • Goblin Wolf Rider, a plastic kit with 15 models including the command group and assembly with either cavalry spear or shortbow.

Orc and Goblin Tribes made to order kits

Only from the 4th of May to the 13th of May, have been made available on made to order basis the following metal kits:

  • Black Orc Big Boss with Axe and Shield

Dwarven Mountain Holds Battalion Box

Finally it was time for the Dwarves to return to the Old World with a fully packed box containing 66 miniatures: 32 Dwarf Warriors, 32 Dwarf Quarrellers (that can also be assembled as Thunderers) and 2 Gyrocopters (that can also be built as Gyrobombers).

The box was accompanied by dice, reference cards and a transfer sheet.

Dwarfen Mountain Holds Arcane Journal

The Dwarfen Arcane Journal contains two new army of infamy, the Royal Clan and an Expeditionary Force, plus new units, new runes and new runic tattoos.

Ungrim Ironfist

From Warhammer Fantasy comes a much younger version of a well-known character: the Slayer King of Karak Kadrin, Ungrim Ironfist in person in brand-new resin.

Dwarf Lord on Shieldbearers

The Dwarf Lord carried by Shieldbearers returns in a brand new plastic kit in the same box with another Dwarf Lord with options for a great weapon or axe and shield and have interchangeable heads.

Dwarf Thane

This new kit in resin depicts a Dwarf Thane on top of an Oathstone that makes him immune to Psychology and force enemies to accept his Challenges.

Here is the list of returning kits in plastic:

  • Runesmith (also available in Age of Sigmar)
  • Warriors (also in the Battalion box)
  • Quarrellers/Thunderers (also in the Battalion box)
  • Ironbreakers/Irondrakes (also available in Age of Sigmar)

In resin we will see the Dwarf Command Set with a Lord, a Thane with Battle Standard and a Slayer of Legend.

Prince Ulther’s Dragon Company – made to order

First cast in 1985, these 2 sets in metal with plastic shields represent Prince Ulther and his Dragon Company and will be available as “Made to Order” for only a week. In the Old World they can be used to represent Imperial Dwarves or any other axe-armed dwarf. One kit contains 5 mono-pose warriors and the other the Ulther himself, a standard bearer, a musician and Borri Forkbeard who can be used as a champion for the unit. This kit was available as made to order from the 3rd to the 12th of August only.

Orcs & Goblins – Ogdruz Swampdigga

The last new model for Orc & Goblin Tribes is finally here. Ogdruz Swampdigga is an Orc Shaman (in resin) that Trolls believe to be one of them and whose rules are available in the related Arcane Journal.

Dwarven Mountain Holds – Remaining returning kits

The last wave of Dwarves, all in plastic, contained:

  • Dwarf King on Oathstone
  • Slayer of Legend
  • Dwarf Miners
  • Dwarf Cannon (which can be assembled also as an Organ Gun)
  • Gyrocopter/Gyrobomber (dual kit)

Several classic plastic terrain kit have also been re-released:

  • Fortified Manor of the Empire, which combines a Sigmarite Chapel, an Empire Watchtower and Walls & Fences

Warriors of Chaos Battalion

The Warriors of Chaos began their return journey to the Old World with a battalion containing 32 Chaos Warriors, 10 Chaos Knights and 2 Chaos Chariots that can also be assembled as Gorebeast Chariots. These models are the ones used before the Age of Sigmar Slaves to Darkness refresh in 2022.

While the Warriors did not receive any new model on their initial release, they have an Arcane Journal that introduces two special characters, Galrauch the Great Drake and Frydaal the Chainmaker, seven new unit profiles and two Armies of Infamy: the Wolves of the Sea and the Heralds of Darkness. The release is accompanied by the usual dice and reference card pack.

In the first wave we saw the return of the following kits:

  • Chaos Lord on Manticore (can assemble also a Chaos Sorceror on Manticore, also available as part of Slaves to Darkness army in AoS)

  • Chaos Warriors (a newer kit is available as part of the Slaves to Darkness range)

Warriors of Chaos second wave

The second wave of Warriors of Chaos contained:

  • Chaos Marauders
  • Chaos Marauder Horsemen (as for the kit above, in Slaves to Darkness there’s newer Darkoath kits that can be used as good alternatives)
  • Chaos Knights (individual release after the presence on the Battalion)
  • Chaos Chariots (technically already available in the Slaves to Darkness range, can be assembled as Gorebeast Chariot)
